The event is a handicapped running race over an approximate 10km distance where runners are allocated their start time by the Appointed Handicapper. The race allows competitors of all running abilities to have the chance to win the race that has a substantial financial reward and should encourage a good spread of competitors from around WA.
The race will see competitors attempt to catch each other within the closing stages of the race making this exciting for spectators and competitors and providing something different from the standard running race over a 10km journey. The race will finish next to the Bunbury Saturday Markets in Queens Gardens.
The race will be timed and results posted online.

The field will be capped at 250 competitors.

Saturday – Race Day
6.00am: Registration Desk opens at Eaton Foreshore.
7.15am: Compulsory Race Briefing
7.25am: First runners assemble at start line
7.30am: Race commences
7.30-8.00am: Runners continue to leave start line
8.30am: Bunbury Saturday Markets open
9.30am: Presentations at Queens Gardens
*Those requiring transport between the start and finish line a shuttle bus will travel from 6.00am at Waters Edge Café to the start line.
The start line is situated at the Eaton Foreshore and runners will run under the Eaton Bridge before crossing the canal bridges and following the path at the rear of the Grand Canals and Pelican Point.
Runners continue along the path on Estuary Drive. Runners will then run along the path to Koombana Drive and run along the grass parallel with the road for approximately 600m.
Runners will cross Koombana Drive (managed by Traffic Controllers) and head along the Inlet path. Following the Inlet path, runners make their way around the back of the Caravan Park before heading over the Koombana Bridge.
Runners then follow the path and turn just short of the Parade Road Boat Ramp and head into the finishing line situated on the grassed area of Queens Gardens next to the Bunbury Saturday Markets.
The course is easily accessible for spectators and will finish next to the Saturday Bunbury Markets which means food, music, drinks and other activities will be available.
An Appointed Handicapper will study the field and previous performances to determine your start time. If no records of your times can be proven it is likely you will begin at the rear of the field.
You will find out your start time when you ‘check in’ at the Registration Desk on race day.
